How it All Started

Minion Works wasn’t born from a perfectly mapped-out business plan. It started out of necessity.

After a business decision didn’t work out the way I had hoped, I had two choices: go back to a traditional day job or take everything I had learned over the previous year and figure out how to turn it into something of my own.

I chose the second option.

I picked up the phone and started calling every real estate agent I could find, offering Matterport 3D tours for real estate listings. I heard “no” more times than I can count, but I also kept hearing the same question:

“Do you offer regular real estate photography?”

At the time, the answer was no.

So I ordered a camera, let my ADHD-fueled hyperfocus take over, and taught myself the fundamentals of real estate photography. I studied, practiced, experimented, and kept improving until photography became a core part of what Minion Works offered.

A few months later, another question started coming up:

“Do you offer drone photography?”

So the process started all over again.

Learn. Practice. Improve. Add another service.

That mindset has shaped Minion Works ever since.

Years later, we’ve gone from starting without even owning a camera to photographing everything from starter homes and vacant land to multimillion-dollar luxury properties throughout Reno, Sparks, Lake Tahoe, Carson City, Truckee, and the surrounding Northern Nevada and Northern California markets.

Today, Minion Works is a full-service real estate media company providing professional real estate photography, drone photography and video, listing videos, Matterport and 3D virtual tours, floor plans, virtual staging, twilight photography, and marketing content for real estate professionals.

But the goal has stayed surprisingly simple: make marketing a property easier for our clients.

We continue to grow by listening to the agents we work with, improving our process, and adding services that help them market their listings more effectively. What started with a phone, a lot of rejection, and a willingness to learn has grown into one of the Reno–Tahoe area's go-to real estate media companies.

And we’re still learning, improving, and building.
